Cancellation Policy

Moxie requires at least 24-hours notice for cancellation of scheduled appointments. Missed appointments jeopardize the therapist’s planning and report writing time. Please review the policy details below:

  • Cancelled by client with prior notice: Please try to reschedule cancelled appointments.

  • Cancelled by client with less than 24 hour notice, or no prior notice, i.e. “no show:” If you are accessing services through private insurance or private pay, you will be charged half of the amount owed. No fees will apply to Medicaid clients.

    • If the initial evaluation is cancelled with less than 24-hours notice, the account may be closed, although emergency cases will be noted and further action will be determined at clinician discretion.

  • Cancelled by clinician: Please attempt to reschedule the session when clinician is available.

  • If reasonable notice is not provided for three sessions, services may be suspended or terminated.

  • If three consecutive appointments are cancelled,  services may be suspended or terminated.

  • For any unexpected or unplanned cancellations on the day of a scheduled appointment, please inform Moxie staff by 7:00AM or as soon as possible after the reason for the cancellation occurs.

  • If you are 15-minutes or more late to your appointment without prior notice, your session may be cancelled.

  • Emergencies and illness may occur, these will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

Sick Policy

Please switch to telehealth or cancel your appointment as soon as possible if you, your child, or any member of your household is sick or still contagious. Any sick person (parent, caregiver, sibling, etc.) in close contact with you or  your child should be symptom-free for at least 24 hours before resuming therapy.

Moxie clinicians work with clients who are medically fragile. We do not want to put clients, families, or ourselves at risk through the spread of sickness. Clients also need to be fever-free (without the aid of a fever/pain reducer) and infection-free (ex: no vomiting, diarrhea, rash or nasal discharge) for at least 24-48 hours before returning to therapy.

  • The following signs and symptoms generally indicate communicable disease/illness:

    • Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea and persistent abdominal pain

    • Fever over 100 degrees (and/or flushed or hot face)

    • sore/strep throat

    • skin eruption or rash/swelling

    • jaundice (yellowing of eyes and/or skin)

    • red or runny eyes, sneezing or discharging nose

    • cough (particularly if persistent or productive)

    • sores and crusts on the scalp, face or body (particularly if red, swollen or draining)

    • pain and stiffness of neck and headache

  • Should your clinician determine that the client is too sick to continue therapy, the session will be terminated and you may be billed for a portion of the session

Inclement Weather

Please check news sources, the Moxie website, or the Moxie social media for inclement weather closures.

  • Sessions will automatically be switched to telehealth in the event of inclement weather closures.

  • If you are uncomfortable with driving, but Moxie is not closed, please let your clinicians know you would like to switch to telehealth.
